'Because The World Needs Us'
Art Exhibition, Watch This Space, Alice Springs/Mparntwe, NT, 2018.
First Nations young women aged 13-16 exhibited autobiographical artworks in varied mediums, from video and photography to land art.


This exhibition shows a selection of new works from young women of Alice Springs/Mparntwe between the ages of 12-16 years old. Each artist has made an autobiographical piece with works discussing a range of themes including concepts of race, coming of age, the reality of being a young Aboriginal woman and growing up in Central Australia. The exhibition comprises of large scale paintings, video/sound installation and land art. The curator's intention of the exhibition is to provide young Aboriginal women a platform to communicate their thoughts, feelings and realities with the outside world.
